As my birthday approaches (mañana) I always set goals for the upcoming year.

fabric spree

I made the 30 mile trek to Fabric Depot on the outskirts of Portland today. I rummaged through their outdoor clearance which was 50% off and definitely scored some good ones. 

Can't wait to start sewing!

cookie yum yum

I love cookies! The cookies I love the most are chocolate chip (minus the chocolate, gasp!)

Here is a lovely recipe I whipped up. 

I call it cookie yum yum

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups of flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 teaspoon either vanilla or almond(your choice)

1 beaten large egg

1 tablespoon water

1/2 cup non salted butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

I adorned my cookies with fresh cherries cut it half

mix butter and sugars together, add egg and water and extract

mix flour, salt and baking powder together then add to mix and stir until well blended.

drop a spoon full on a baking sheet and adorn with whatever you like. 

Preheat 325 degrees. 

bake for 15 minutes or until slightly brown
